Class Guidelines

A warm welcome to all our new Jinglers!

Here are a few guidelines to help everyone enjoy class:

Settling In

It’s completely normal for babies to take time to settle into a new environment.
Some may be alert and ready to explore, while others may feel unsure at first — both are perfectly okay.
Please don’t worry if your baby is clingy, quiet, overwhelmed or wants to stay in your arms for most of the session. They will settle in their own time, and we follow their lead gently.

Prams & Strollers

As the room can get quite full, we kindly ask that prams and strollers are left outside the room where possible to give everyone plenty of space to move safely.

How Our Classes Work

Jingle Babies is a relaxed, sensory-rich class where your baby:
• Listens to gentle music
• Feels rhythm through movement
• Enjoys simple, age-appropriate instruments
• Explores scarves, bubbles and props
• Begins to observe early social interactions
• Learns through YOU — your voice, your touch and your closeness

You are their safe space, and everything is done at your baby’s pace. There is absolutely no expectation for babies to sit, follow instructions or participate in a structured way. This class is about bonding, exploration and joyful early development.

Movement & Freedom

Some babies will happily lie on a mat, others will want to be held the entire time, and many will switch between the two — all are completely normal.

Feel free to:
✔ Hold your baby
✔ Sit on the mat together
✔ Stand and gently rock
✔ Walk around if they need movement
✔ Step out briefly if they need a reset

Do whatever keeps your baby happy and comfortable.

Parent/Carer Participation

We kindly ask adults to avoid chatting during the main part of the class. Friendships are encouraged, but conversation is best kept to:
• Before/after the session
• When handing out or collecting instruments
• Bubble time

Keeping the room focused helps all children get the most out of class.

Auslan in Our Classes

From Term 1, 2026, we are excited to introduce Auslan (Australian Sign Language) into all Jingle Tots classes. This is a new and meaningful addition to our program. We are passionate about creating an inclusive environment where every child feels seen and supported, while also giving little ones the chance to learn simple signs that may help them communicate with — and support — others in the future. There is absolutely no pressure for children (or adults!) to use every sign.
Take what feels comfortable, enjoy what your child enjoys, and simply leave anything that doesn’t suit your family. The aim is to expose children to inclusive communication in a gentle, joyful and age-appropriate way.

Food & Drinks

Please no food in class.Babies often explore with their hands and mouths, and food can pose allergy or safety risks.Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are of course welcome.Water bottles for also fine.

Belongings

Please place bags and shoes on the tables rather than the floor to keep the space tidy and safe for crawling and rolling babies.

Hygiene

Babies explore the world by touching, chewing and mouthing objects — this is completely normal and an important part of their learning and development. Please don’t worry if your little one puts instruments or props in their mouth.Everything used in class is thoroughly cleaned and washed after every session to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for all our babies.

Unwell Babies

If your child is unwell in any way, please keep them home for the comfort and safety of the group.
We are happy to arrange a make-up class at another location — just email us.

Photos & Videos

You’re welcome to take photos or videos of your own baby. Please make sure no other babies are visible unless their parents have given permission.

The More You Put In…

The more relaxed and engaged you are, the more your baby will enjoy the experience.

Thank you for helping us create a calm, joyful and nurturing environment each week.

We can’t wait to see you and your little one soon for lots of Jingle Babies FUN! 🎶💛
