Class Guidelines

A warm welcome to all our new Jinglers!

Here are a few guidelines to help everyone enjoy class:

Settling In

It’s completely normal for children to take a few weeks to settle. Some may feel shy or overwhelmed at first — and that’s ok! We’ve seen the quietest children at the start of term grow into confident, joyful dancers by the end. All they need is time and support.

Prams & Strollers

Because classes are almost at capacity, we ask that all prams and strollers are left outside the room to keep the space safe and comfortable for everyone unless you need them for younger siblings.

How Our Classes Work

Jingle Tots classes are all about fun, music, movement and learning through play.

Your child will begin to learn simple skills such as:
• Sitting on their mat when asked
• Putting instruments away
• Caring for instruments
• Sharing and taking turns
• Listening to others

As a mum myself, I understand these skills take time — and they won’t always happen perfectly. That’s totally fine.

Structure vs Freedom

Our classes offer a gentle balance:

✔ Some structured moments
(for safety, enjoyment and readiness for early learning)

✔ Plenty of freedom to move
We encourage children to express themselves naturally. They do not need to sit still the whole time, and we don’t suppress their enthusiasm.

Parent/Carer Participation

We kindly ask adults to avoid chatting during the main part of the class. Friendships are encouraged, but conversation is best kept to:
• Before/after the session
• When handing out or collecting instruments
• Bubble time

Keeping the room focused helps all children get the most out of class.

Auslan in Our Classes

From Term 1, 2026, we are excited to introduce Auslan (Australian Sign Language) into all Jingle Tots classes. This is a new and meaningful addition to our program. We are passionate about creating an inclusive environment where every child feels seen and supported, while also giving little ones the chance to learn simple signs that may help them communicate with — and support — others in the future. There is absolutely no pressure for children (or adults!) to use every sign.
Take what feels comfortable, enjoy what your child enjoys, and simply leave anything that doesn’t suit your family. The aim is to expose children to inclusive communication in a gentle, joyful and age-appropriate way.

Food & Drinks

Please no food in class. It can be distracting and may pose a risk to children with allergies.
Water bottles are perfectly fine.

Belongings

Please place bags, shoes and personal items on a table rather than the floor. It helps reduce clutter and distractions.

Unwell Children

If your child is sick in any way, please keep them home. We are happy to organise a make-up session at one of our other locations — just email us to arrange.

Photos & Videos

You are welcome to take photos or videos of your own child. Please ensure no other children appear in your images unless you have permission from their parents.

The More You Put In…

The more enthusiasm you show, the more your child (and the children around you) will benefit.

Thank you for helping create a supportive and joyful learning environment.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We can’t wait to see you soon for lots of jingling FUN! 🎶💛
